Feedbase Discussion Groups

Active discussion groups across Dairy Australia's regional teams meet on a regular basis with a focus on feedbase-related issues. Every region faces different issues, experiences and seasonal challenges. The feedbase discussion groups create the opportunity to utilise the collective wisdom of all the members in the group to help overcome these challenges.

Regardless of the farming system, it is well-understood that feed costs are the major contributor to a farm's cost of production. Through benchmarking analysis, efficiency in feeding has been identified as a key area for improvement on many dairy farms across the industry.

Discussion groups offer farmers the unique opportunity to learn from other commercial dairy farmers and be challenged by their peers to look for opportunities to continually improve their own feedbase performance.

Dairy farmers interested in joining a feedbase discussion group can contact their regional team.
