GippsDairy is governed by a board of ten directors. The Board is made up of six dairy farmers, three specialist directors with skills required by the Board, and the Executive Officer. Board members are appointed for three year terms and can serve a maximum of three terms.
Her farm has received both Dairy Australia Milk Quality awards and Premium Milk Quality awards.
Maffra's Richard Shephard has combined a veterinary career with his involvement in research and extension programs as well as farm consulting.
Dr Shephard, who has worked as a clinical vet, farm management consultant and, most recently, an industry level consultant, has skills and abilities that can help broaden the boardroom discussion when looking at issues and problems.
Shiona is a fourth-generation dairy farmer from South Gippsland and her family has owned their farm for one hundred years. She has previously worked as a nutrition consultant and has been a director on the GippsDairy board since 2017.
She has been a mentor through the Cows Create Careers project.
He has twice been a finalist for ‘sharefarmer of the year’.
