Karen McLennan
Regional Manager - Executive Officer
Karen is no stranger to the dairy industry, having grown up on a dairy farm in South Gippsland and supporting two teenage sons working on dairies in the Macalister Irrigation District.

    Sallie Clynes
    Executive Assistant
    Sallie has a strong and diverse background in administration and is comfortable working across a wide range of activities. This includes everything from event and meeting organisation, board support, report writing and providing full admin assistance to the Regional Manager/Executive Officer.

      Donna Gibson
      Regional Extension Officer

      Donna has worked across four program areas at GippsDairy - Farm Systems and Business Management, Animal Performance, Feedbase and Animal Nutrition, and Land Water and Climate.

      Having grown up in a dairy farming family and spending her working life in agriculture, she brings of wealth of experience and knowledge to the GippsDairy team.

        Sarah Cornell
        Project Lead                                        Workforce Attraction and Retention
        Workforce attraction role provides leadership and engagement support for the dairy industry to attract and coordinate the successful transition of people into dairy farm roles. The role will engage with farmers and various organisations, communities and agencies to successfully facilitate opportunities for jobseekers into roles in dairy farming communities. The role has a strong focus on working closely with regional community networks, including but not limited to education sector (including schools, TAFEs, Universities and other education related organisations), recruitment agencies, migrant communities and other targeted groups as well as directly with dairy farming businesses. The role will leverage Dairy Australia’s efforts in supporting retention and capability development of people in the industry working closely other regional extension officers in RDPs focussed on workforce retention and team leadership development with farmers.

          Katherine Byrne
          Regional Extension Officer
          Katherine Byrne has spent the past twelve years working on farms in Gippsland. Throughout this time, she has undertaken a traineeship, GippsDairy courses as well as studied Agribusiness at Marcus Oldham. Katherine hopes that her hands-on experience and practical studies will be of great benefit to assisting dairy farmers. She looks forward to broadening her knowledge further from her interactions with the farming community.

            Kristen Davis
            Regional Extension Officer
            Kristen holds both Masters of Agricultural Sciences majoring in Animal Science and a Bachelor of Agriculture from the University of Melbourne. Kristen’s background is in herd improvement, previously providing solutions to farmers across Gippsland with a strong emphasis on analysis, interpretation and application of data. Her passion lies within animal performance and herd improvement, in particular reproduction and genetics. Through this, Kristen aims to improving productivity and profitability of farmers.

            Robyn McLean
            Regional Extension Officer

            Growing up on a large farm in Northern Victoria, Robyn has been involved in the agricultural industry all her life. Since moving to Gippsland, Robyn has specialised in dairy herd improvement, primarily focusing on herd recording. Robyn hopes to use her knowledge and passion for the agricultural industry to provide dairy farmers with up-to-date and industry-specific information that contributes to a sustainable dairy industry.

            Kathryn Fox
            Regional Extension Officer

            Kathryn has an Agricultural Science degree and a Business degree from La Trobe University. She has worked in banking and herd improvement within Gippsland over the past few years, providing her with a good foundation to support Gippsland dairy farmers. Kathryn looks forward to helping improve farm practices to achieve business goals whilst remaining sustainable into the future.

            Gerard Callinan
            Communications Advisor
            Gerard Callinan comes to GippsDairy with significant career skills in communications, radio and engagement. While Gippsland ABC’s Rural Reporter, Gerard developed valuable connections with the Gippsland Agricultural Sector and delivered positive programs and content for diverse audiences. Gerard manages a part-time role with GippsDairy with a similar role with West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority. In his spare time, Gerard runs a small business involving fitness, public relations consultancy and oral history.
