Notes:

Change in price is the change since the last report. Prices are estimates based on delivery to dairy farms with allowance for freight, storage, and marketing costs, but exclusive of GST. Wheat prices are for the relevant stockfeed wheat available in a region (ASW, AGP, SFW1 or FED1) and F1 for barley.

Grain Commentary

  • Wheat: Steady ($305 to $315/tonne). Barley: Down $20 ($230 to $240/tonne). Maize: Down $10 ($335 to $345/tonne). Canola Meal: Steady ($445 to $455/tonne).
  • Wheat prices have firmed slightly, with strong demand from most of the major exporters.
  • Barley prices decreased this week, with reports of demand for new barley not being as consistent as wheat demand.
  • Pulse prices have firmed over the past week, with both lentils and chickpea prices increasing, with growers interested in selling at the current price.
