Notes:
Commentary
- Wheat: Down $25 ($430 to $440/tonne). Barley: Down $10 ($440 to $450/tonne). Maize: Down $10 ($435 to $445/tonne). Sorghum: Down $10 ($375 to $385/tonne).
- Good progress has been made on summer crop harvests although rain forecasts may hinder this, while planting in western downs is moving towards completion.
- Old and new crop bids for wheat are down as traders’ bids ease. Additional weakness in international values is, to some degree, adding to the more relaxed nature of buyers in the market.
- Old crop barley bids are also lower in line with wheat values. The trade appears to have covered nearby shorts. Feedlots also seem to have enough coverage in the short term.
- Sorghum harvest is still ongoing (although it will likely stop from Friday with forecast rainfall) with results of mixed quality. Prices have eased over the last week.
