Feeding Systems

Due to Australia's diverse climate and circumstances, different feeding systems are used by dairy farmers across the country.

Broadly, there are three types of systems:

  • Pasture-based systems
  • Partial mixed ration (PMR)
  • Total mixed ration (TMR)

The following pages explore these different feeding systems in more detail. As more information about the differences between systems becomes available, these pages will continue to be updated.
