Notes:
Change in price is the change since the last report. Prices are estimates based on delivery to dairy farms with allowance for freight, storage, and marketing costs, but exclusive of GST. Wheat prices are for the relevant stockfeed wheat available in a region (ASW, AGP, SFW1 or FED1) and F1 for barley.
Commentary
- Wheat: Down $25 ($475 to $485/tonne). Barley: Down $5 ($435 to $445/tonne). Maize: Down $5 ($450 to $460/tonne). Sorghum: Steady ($440 to $450/tonne).
- Growing conditions remain wet with forecasts showing rain over the next week, which will continue to delay planting in some regions.
- Wheat prices have been volatile, with old and new crop values in most regions and grades seeing slight decreases.
- Barley markets have followed wheat and softened with new crop values influenced by seasonal conditions and planting delays.
- Sorghum markets were firm with harvest slowly resuming. Quality and grade are a mixture of SOR1 & 2.
