Dairy Business Support Services

The Dairy Business Support Services (DBSS) project aims to support dairy farmer business owners across New South Wales in planning and building prosperous dairy farm businesses.

The program offers access to one-on-one support with an expert consultant and focuses on essential farm business management needs. It is funded by the Farm Business Resilience Program (FBRP), supported by the Future Drought Fund, and the Department of Primary Industries Regional Development (DPIRD).

Having successfully supported dairy farmers across the state for the past several years, it will continue this commitment until 30 June 2025. There are a total of 50 one-on-one consultation sessions available from 1 September 2024 – 30 June 2025, covering a number of topical areas for personalised advice on critical areas of farm business management:

  • Analysis of profitability and productivity Drivers

  • Business planning

  • Farm performance planning

  • Accounting system software

The program also has a total of four group activities available to be run (either in-person or online) on topics that are of interest to a broader group of farmers by region or across the state. The program will continue to run until 30 June 2025.

As part of the government-funded program with FBRP and DPIRD, participants are required to complete a one-page business plan and a feedback survey about their experience. By engaging in this program, there is the option to consent to sharing your details with third parties, such as the funding body, for program evaluation purposes.
