DairySA was honoured to support the Kongorong Primary School for the celebration of its second annual Farm Day. This event aims to engage students in agriculture at a tender age. Mum and Dairy farmer Jen Stolp had to say about the event - “children are our future leaders and starting them young to have an appreciation of rearing livestock is in our best interest.”
It was a beautiful sight watching the students, parents and their reactions as they learnt about 'how grass becomes milk' through the Dairy Australia VR program. Students also enjoyed dairy cow colouring amongst other highlights.
The returning Primary School Farm Day event has been valuable in building interest in children around rural industries, career pathways and opportunities. We look forward to returning next year for another exciting and educational day with the Kongorong students.
