DairySA Central Conference returns to Murray Bridge next month

Dairy succession success, understanding and rethinking methane, intensifying dairy systems, and understanding effluent management are just some of the topics which will be explored at DairySA’s upcoming Central Conference.

Returning for the eighth year - this highly regarded SA event continues to build on its strong reputation and success for connecting farmers, service providers, and industry members, while tapping into new ways of thinking.

Up to 150 delegates from across SA’s Fleurieu, Barossa Mid-North, River & Lakes and the South-East will meet face-to-face for the popular day, which is driven by local input from SA’s central dairy farming community.

“We know our farmers and work hard to meet their expectations, which means listening to their interests and asking what they want to see more of. In 2023, we are proud to present relevant, timely and challenging discussions which reflect the directions and subjects requested by our farmers.” - DairySA

“The central conference is an opportunity for us as farmers and our staff to access research, resources and information from Australia and the world, to bring home to our business. There’s always something to learn from and integrate at home or help develop new ideas and plans to improve our businesses. It’s also an opportunity to chat with our local farming families, friends, and service providers away from the farm.” - Bec Walmsley, Dairy Farmer – Windy Vale Farm, Fleurieu Peninsula

“This year's event is set to be another standout DairySA conference. It's been great to work with the conference committee to bring the best of the best presenters from both the International and Australian dairy scene to this year's event. We've allowed plenty of networking time this year, so it's also a great opportunity to get off farm and catch up with others from the industry.” - Beck Burgess, Conference Coordinator

The event will be a welcome start to the year, with innovative experts and industry professionals leading the discussion. This year’s keynote speakers include:

Joseph “Jake” Martin III – World renowned dairy advisor for housed and intensive systems
Professor Frank Mitloehner – University of California Davis
Scott Mcdonald – Agriculture Victoria
Olie Le Lievre – Humans of Agriculture

In 2023 the Post Conference Networking & Dinner will also be held at the Bridges Event Centre. At the conclusion of the conference, the DairySA board and team invite delegates, sponsors, and speakers to review the day together as they ‘Gather & Graze’. This will be followed by the highly popular Conference Dinner where delegates can unwind, relax, and mull over conference topics in the company of industry colleagues.

The DairySA Central Conference is the result of a collaborative approach between DairySA and Central region South Australian dairy farmers and will be held on Wednesday 22 March, 9.00am at the Bridges Event Centre, Murray Bridge Racing Club.

Farmers and Service Providers are urged to book their tickets early to allow plenty of planning time. Registrations for both the Conference and Dinner are now open through Eventbrite: https://bit.ly/3VonqQ3
