In collaboration with Agriculture Victoria and EPA, DairySA are running workshops in South Australia to assist farmers to understand the value of managing effluent on your properties.
The workshops will cover how to maximise effluent as a resource on your property, planning and application, and understanding the role of the EPA, the guidelines and landholder responsibilities and the support available to you. These workshops are specifically for farmers.
Join EPA's David Palmer alongside Scott McDonald and Rachael Campbell from AgVic, with facilitator Beck Burgess.

If you are currently reviewing your effluent management procedures there are several resources available that will assist with planning. For South Australian Policy the following documents are essential to review:
• ‘Code of Practice for Milking Shed Effluent’
• ‘Environment Protection (Water Quality) Policy 2015’
• ‘Environment Protection Act 1993 (Clauses 15 & 20)’
Dairy Australia also has resources available including the ‘National Guidelines for Dairy Feedpads and Contained Housing’. For further info, farmers can utilise ‘Effluent Management’ resources on the Dairy Australia Website, here.
The Agriculture Victoria website also includes very useful information including contacts for effluent system designers. View it here.
