DairySTART Expressions of Interest - 2025 Cohort

This form is for Expressions of Interest for the DairySTART program, which will be delivered during April-June 2025.

DairySTART is a program for people working in junior farmhand roles on NSW dairy farms.

The program is delivered by Dairy NSW in partnership with Tocal Agricultural College and aims to teach best practice skills and knowledge in three topic areas, through a mix of online and face to face learning experiences.

Participants develop the critical thinking and problem solving ability to apply their skills and knowledge in a range of farming scenarios.

The DairySTART program includes three modules:

• Milking operations
• Rearing healthy calves
• Working with livestock.

Through a delivery partnership with Tocal Agricultural College, participants are eligible to be assessed for competency in three units from the Certificate III Dairy Production. Participants who successfully attain these units can use them as credit toward a full certificate qualification if they choose.

The three units are:

• Rear Newborn and Young Livestock (AHCLSK318)
• Identify and draft livestock (AHCLSK308)
• Coordinate and monitor milking operations (AHCDRY303)
