Nutrition Fundamentals is a two-day course (with option for a 3rd day) designed to encourage farmers to gain a better overall understanding of nutrition basics such as energy (ME), CP (crude protein), NDF (Fibre). Not only understand their importance and where they fit into the diet, but also working out what a cows requirements are and how we can meet that demand.
Day 1 will be in the class room and day 2 will be held out on farm to do some hands on learning. Day 3 is optional for the group and an opportunity to go back over anything we've covered in more detail, or spend time on something that may not have been covered in the first 2 days.
You will also cover addressing feed gaps as cost efficiently and effectively as possible using supplements.
This course is ideal for anyone looking to develop nutrition knowledge, refresh their nutrition information, or to test what you know. This is the pathway course to help you get ready for the advanced nutrition course
