The Whole Farm Environment - Tamworth

Join with the Tamworth Dairy Community on Wednesday 5thMarch for an informal get together. Topics for discussion will include the weather (of course!), understanding the business of your business, benchmarking and tracking your success.Also a chance to raise local issues for group discussion and idea sharing.

Ever wondered how your farm is travelling as a whole?

What are ways we can evaluate and quantify a dairy farms current sustainability performance across a range of areas, including energy, water, waste, animal welfare, soil health and irrigation.

The Farm Environmental Tracker (FET) online tool supports dairy farm businesses with assessing and improving environmental practices.

How it works

• Assess the current environmental practices of a dairy farm business to identify improvement opportunities.
• Evaluate farm environmental performance by benchmarking against other dairy farms using the online tool.
• Develop, share and track progress with an action plan for improving farm environmental management.

By participating in this discussion and accessing the FET tool you will assist in highlighting an area of interest as a priority for the region. This will lead to a follow up on farm day with a subject matter expert on that topic fully supported by Dairy Australia.

Information gathered on the night will also help create a plan for the desired workshops, discussion group topics and support from Dairy Australia over the next 12 months.
