“While every year contains challenges, the local dairy sector has seen record prices and plenty of rain over the past 12 months,” said Executive Officer of GippsDairy, Karen McLennan. “The evening at the Traralgon Winery will include formal business and provide dairy farmers the opportunity to get together, catch up with friends and also hear from a great speaker on the night.”

The dinner speaker is Stuart Crosthwaite, a fifth-generation dairy farmer from Kergunyah South in North-East Victoria.

“Stuart will bring a range of experiences to share with the Gippsland audience,” said Karen.

He has been active in industry development, was chair of the Alpine Valleys Dairy for 10 years and most recently formed Australia’s newest dairy cooperative, the Mountain Milk Co-operative. This all at the same time as running a major dairy farm alongside his wife Sarah.

Stuart is also a graduate of the 2019-2020 Australian Rural Leadership Program and will share some of that experience with our local dairy community,” concluded Karen.

Reservations for the dinner can be made here.
