World Milk Day
Monday 1 June marks the 20th anniversary of World Milk Day, a day of celebration for the global dairy industry. This year, Dairy Australia are proudly celebrating the many reasons why milk matters; milk matters for our health, delicious meals, local jobs and most importantly, for our hardworking dairy farmers, and are asking Aussies to get involved.
Working with farmers, dairy industry ambassador and Aussie rules legend Jonathan Brown and a suite of dairy supporters including celebrity chef Matt Moran and lifestyle expert Emma Hawkins, Dairy Australia will showcase the important role milk and dairy foods play in the fabric of our communities. Be it for overall health and wellbeing, for our athletes to gain the protein they need for muscle growth and repair or just because it’s an integral (and delicious) part of so many meals and snacks, everyone has a reason why milk matters to them.
World Milk Day is not only a celebration of milk, but of the hardworking Aussie dairy communities. For almost 200 years, Australian dairy farmers have been proudly producing dairy foods, taking pride in feeding and nourishing generations of Aussies.
In the lead up to World Milk Day, Dairy Australia will also kick-off the Milk Bottle Challenge, asking Australians to pull on their footy boots (regardless of the code you follow) and complete a trick shot between two milk bottles to show their support for the Aussie dairy farming community.
Remember to join in this World Milk Day by sharing your #milkbottlechallenge or showcasing why milk matters with the #WorldMilkDay and share your favourite way to celebrate delicious dairy and all it represents. Read more.
