Empowering the next generation of dairy industry leaders
Australian dairy industry members are invited to apply for the Mentoring the Future of Dairy Program, which begins in June.
Funded under the Storm and Flood Industry Recovery Program – a partnership between Dairy NSW and the New South Wales Department of Industries – Mentoring the Future of Dairy will take place over nine months, ending in March 2024. The aim of this program is to encourage and foster the development and connectedness of dairy leaders to think and act across the industry.
This will be achieved by pairing mentees with more experienced practitioners who are willing to provide guidance, support and feedback for the mentee to achieve their developmental goals for their mentoring relationship.
The mentor may help the mentee achieve or work toward personal or career goals, introduce the mentee to new ways of thinking, challenge a mentee’s limiting assumptions, share valuable life lessons, and much more.
Mentors and mentees will be matched according to application details and are required to attend three events: Program Launch, Progress Review and Program Close – all of which will be delivered via a webinar.
To join as a mentee, you must be:
- Working in any part of the dairy supply chain or a student interested in dairy.
- Any age/experience level.
- Residing/working in a New South Wales Local Government Area.
To join as a mentor, you must be:
- Working in any part of the dairy supply chain.
- Residing/working in Australia or internationally.
Both mentees and mentors must also be willing to complete the online training provided, review the support resources available and engage completely in the relationship process, connecting with your mentee/mentor at least once a month.
Mentees and mentors will be asked to complete a short application form to assess their eligibility for the program and to collect details about what they are looking for in a mentoring partner.
Applications close Monday 15 May, and applicants will find out if there is a suitable match by Monday 29 May.
