Building International Relationships
Relationships are key to Australia's success in international markets. Dairy Australia builds and supports the industry's position as an exporter of safe, high-quality dairy products around the world through international market programs.
The Dairy Australia Scholarship Program
Each year Dairy Australia invites industry contacts from Greater China, Japan, South East Asia and South Korea to take part in a unique scholarship opportunity. The program showcases the very best of Australian dairy, demonstrating our innovative farming practices and highest quality manufacturing processes.
Scholarship Experience
Delegates start by participating in classroom-style lectures and practicals which include updates on the Australian dairy industry, dairy food safety, cheesemaking, food standards, inspection and certification regulations as well as presentations by Australian-based processors, fostering future commercial relationships.
Participants then head out to see farms and processing facilities for themselves, giving them the opportunity to see Australia's diverse dairy landscapes, farming technology, first rate manufacturing systems, and testing facilities. Along the way, scholarship participants are invited to taste dishes made with high-quality Australian dairy products and other local produce.
In 2021, Dairy Australia held their first ever online scholarship with keen participants from across South East Asia and South Korea taking part in an extended version of the program that travelled virtually through every dairying state of Australia.
Dairy Australia Scholarship Alumni Group
At the end of the program, delegates are welcomed them into Dairy Australia's Scholarship Program Alumni group. There are currently over 850 alumni who are now influential local industry representatives in export markets and ambassadors for the Australian dairy industry and products.

In-market programs and meetings
Dairy Australia holds regular seminars, meetings with commercial customers and government stakeholders, and undertakes network and relationship building activities with key groups such as alumni of the Dairy Australia scholarship in each of our key international markets.
These visits enable Dairy Australia to discuss market access and policy issues to support exports, provide updates on the state of the Australian industry and further establish trusted relationships at all levels within our networks.
Previous visits have included cooking demonstrations and product sampling at culinary schools, joint interactive food and wine events with key influencers, chefs and media. Dairy Australia also partners with other Research and Development Corporations for promotional events across industries.
