Grazing Winter Cereals

Good management of winter cereals during sowing and establishment can allow up to two grazings of high-quality forage to be achieved before the crop is locked up for silage in mid-winter.

Dairy Australia's Winter cereal grazing management fact sheet provides detailed information on how to manage winter cereals during this period to ensure the maximum benefit is obtained from the crop in terms of grazing yield, quality and silage yield.
