Manufacturing Support Programs



Dairy Australia supports the sustainability and international competitiveness of the Australian dairy processing community for the benefit of Australian dairy farmers by:

  • Connecting processors with best-practice resources and technologies
  • Supporting collaborative initiatives and transfer of technology with strong industry-wide potential
  • Assisting manufacturers to benchmark, performance track and communicate progress towards their Sustainability Framework targets 

Current grant programs

Grants are often available to support dairy manufacturers grow and develop their business, processes and products. A good place to start is the Australian Government grants information system and most State Governments also list available grants on their websites.

Grants specific for dairy manufacturers also become available from time to time.

Support for technology assessment and pilot studies

Dairy Australia’s Technology Assessment (DATA) Scheme supports Australian dairy processors to determine the feasibility of new technologies or practices which show potential to significantly improve the industry’s economic or environmental performance.

Co-funded by Food Innovation Australia Limited (FIAL) and administered by Dairy Australia, the DATA Scheme is designed to de-risk investment decisions and accelerate the uptake of innovative technologies, ensuring that the Australian dairy industry remains internationally competitive.

Project funding of up to $50,000 is available (to be matched at minimum of 1:1 by the applicant).

Current grant programs

If you are considering funding options for your business, Dairy Australia has compiled an initial list of current grants and incentive schemes that may be of interest.

These schemes are designed to encourage a strong dairy manufacturing sector with grants from Dairy Australia and other industry bodies, alongside some institutional and business lenders.

Some grant programs will either offer a dollar amount or a percentage of the total required funding.
