Extension of non-urban water metering compliance dates

The New South Wales Government has announced that water users in the state’s southern inland and coastal regions have been given extra time to install non-urban metering equipment in the wake of significant rainfall and widespread flooding.

Amendments to the Water Management (General) Regulation 2018 have been gazetted, noting the new compliance dates:

  • 1 June 2023 for Southern Inland (extended by six months).
  • 1 December 2024 for Coastal NSW (extended by 12 months).

These new dates give water users a reprieve as they continue to face ongoing flood events.
