AI Training course on offer again



DairyTas, with funding from State Government, will again be partnering with TafeSA to deliver another Artificial Insemination (AI) course in March 2023.

This course is specifically designed to help you gain a greater understanding of the AI process and be able to undertake AI on your own cows.  If you are interested in becoming an AI technician this course is a good starting point, however you will need to undertake further training after completion of this course.

Course Details:

  • Tentative Dates (to be confirmed closer to March) – March 1, 2, 8 and 9
  • Length – 4 days run as 2 x 2 days (ie 2 days consecutively separated by a week)
  • Hours – 9am till 4pm each day
  • Location – TBC
  • Cost – $1,100 inc GST per person 
  • Course numbers are limited to 10 per course

As part of the application process those who are successful will:

  • have more than 12 months on farm experience
  • regularly work with dairy animals
  • be able to implement the new AI skills on farm as soon as practical and
  • have long-term plans of staying in the industry.

Please Note, if you are an employee you will need to provide the contact details of your current manager.  We will be checking with employers that they are willing to support participants to attend the training even if participants are covering the cost of the course.
