Soil Types

A soil type is the classification of a soil due to its formation which is influenced by parent material, climate, topography, organic activity and age.

Recognising soil types can provide valuable information about the characteristics of local soils, including the strengths and weaknesses for crop and pasture production.

More information about different soil types and their impact on production can be found on the Dairying for Tomorrow website.
